Privacy

This website is maintained by the descendants of Victor Karlovich Stember to preserve his memory and catalog his artwork. It collects very little, and this page explains exactly what, why, and who sees it.

What we collect and why

• Contact form. When you write to the family, we receive the name, email address, subject, and message you enter, plus the artwork or photograph the message is about if you arrived from one of those pages, and any photos you choose to attach. The message is emailed to the family and kept in a private record so it is not lost, and it is used only to reply to you and to follow up on the information you shared.
• Victor's Assistant.Messages you type into the assistant chat are sent to our chat service, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to compose a reply from the content of this site. Conversations are held in memory for about thirty minutes and are not saved. Do not enter personal details you would not want processed by that service. If you choose to write to the family from inside the chat, the contact form shown there collects the same details as the contact page and is delivered the same way.
• Site analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool self-hosted by FirstCoast.ai, to count visits and see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not follow you to other websites.
• Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic request logs (address, page requested, time) that are used only to keep the site running and secure. These are kept briefly and then discarded.

What we do not do

• We set no cookies and use no advertising or social-media trackers.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone outside the family and the services named above that are needed to run the site.
• We do not create accounts or profiles for visitors.

Who helps run the site

The site is hosted and maintained by FirstCoast.ai (Jacksonville, Florida) on servers in the United States. Contact-form messages pass through FirstCoast.ai's automation service on their way to the family, and assistant replies are generated through Anthropic's API. Links to other websites, such as the introductory video on YouTube, are governed by those sites' own policies.

Your choices

You may ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the family through the contact page. Nothing on this site requires you to share personal information to read it.
